Job Overview
We are seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) for a 14-week contract assignment in Monterey, California. The PT will evaluate, plan, and implement individualized rehabilitation programs for patients recovering from injury, illness, or surgery within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.
This role requires strong clinical reasoning, patient-centered care, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to improve patient mobility, strength, and functional independence.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans
Provide therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and functional rehabilitation
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Document all patient care accurately and in a timely manner
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapy staff
Educate patients and families on therapy goals and home exercise programs
Ensure patient safety during all therapy interventions
Maintain compliance with facility and regulatory standards
Requirements
Active Physical Therapist (PT) license required
Doctorate or Master s degree in Physical Therapy required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility standards
Previous experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation preferred
Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
Ability to manage patient caseload independently
Knowledge of rehabilitation protocols and patient safety standards
