Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PT Acute Care Hospital Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of Level 1 trauma acute care experience required License: State Licensed Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Level 1 trauma acute care experience Description: Therapy services are provided to a wide range of patient care areas, including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology. Employee will work Monday through Friday, with a start time that could be flexible up to 08:00. Employee will be required to work one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) during a 4-week period, resulting in a day off during that week. The role is primarily focused on inpatient acute care. Strong communication skills and a desire to work with a variety of patient populations are essential. Assessment, documentation, patient and family education, and safety and injury prevention are required responsibilities. The clinician may float within the scope to meet facility needs. Documentation should be completed in accordance with departmental policies. The role involves establishing treatment plans, considering discharge needs, functional status, and recommending appropriate equipment. Collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare providers is crucial, including referrals to specialists as needed. Delegation of tasks to assistants and techs is required, ensuring the best intervention for patient needs. Compliance with safety protocols and handling equipment is necessary.
