Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PT Acute Care Hospital Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: 1 year of level 1 trauma acute care experience required License: Must be state licensed Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Level 1 trauma acute care experience Description: Therapy services are provided to a wide range of patient care areas, including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 07:00 to 15:30, with a flexible start time. The employee will be required to work one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) during a 4-week period, resulting in a day off that week. Required skills include strong communication and a desire to work with a variety of patient populations. Assessments, documentation, patient and family education, and safety and injury prevention are essential components of the role. The physical therapist will establish treatment plans and provide treatment while considering discharge needs and expected discharge functional status. They will educate and collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare providers, making recommendations for referrals as needed. Completion of documentation in accordance with departmental policies is required. The role must utilize safe patient handling equipment and be familiar with various therapeutic techniques and assistive devices. The clinician may float within their scope to meet facility needs.
