Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: PT Specialty: Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8 hours on weekdays, 4.5 hours on Friday Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a hospital setting preferred License: Must have a valid state PT license Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: - State PT license must be attached to resume - BLS certification must be through the American Heart Association - Recent PT experience Description: Physical therapists (PTs) are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages. They address medical problems or health-related conditions that limit individuals' abilities to move and perform functional activities. PTs examine each individual and develop a treatment plan using various techniques to promote mobility, reduce pain, and restore function. They also work on preventing mobility loss by creating fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier lifestyles. Physical therapists provide care in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, and nursing homes. State licensure is required for practice in each state. PTs evaluate and conduct prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. They provide educational information to patients regarding injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy, and rehabilitation therapy. PTs supervise physical therapy assistants and aides during treatment sessions. This position primarily involves outpatient services. Weekend coverage for occasional acute care evaluations is required every five weeks.
