Job Summary

A Physical Therapist (PT) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats individuals with physical impairments, injuries, or functional limitations. PTs develop personalized treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. They work across various healthcare settings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and physical assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Perform therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy and exercise programs
  • Utilize modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, injury prevention, and wellness
  • Document patient evaluations, treatments, and progress accurately and timely
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and support staff
Requirements & QualificationsEducation & Licensure
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
  • Active Physical Therapist license in the state of practice
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (required or preferred)
Experience
  • New graduates welcome; clinical rotations required
  • 1–2 years of experience preferred (varies by employer)
  • Experience in settings such as outpatient, inpatient, rehabilitation, or home health is a plus
