Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PT Acute Care Hospital Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 Years Required License: State License Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: - Must be comfortable being assigned to an "Emergency Team" in case of events. - Must have experience with high acuity patients in an acute care setting. - Must be willing to float to other general medicine floors. Description: The Physical Therapist will work primarily with a geriatric patient population on general medicine floors. Responsibilities include evaluating patients and creating a plan of care. The therapist will also perform gait training, strength testing, and discharge planning. Experience with adaptive devices and assistive technology is necessary. Must be adept at monitoring vital signs and assessing cognitive disorders. The position requires effective time management and communication skills. All candidates must adhere to scheduling requirements. Weekend shifts are required, with up to four shifts per month. A strong understanding of various diagnoses, including degenerative joint disease and post-operative rehabilitation, is essential. The candidate should be familiar with electronic health records and charting systems. It is crucial to follow safety protocols and maintain patient confidentiality.
