Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: PT Acute Care Hospital Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: State License required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Unit will accept first-time travelers - Weekends: 4 weekend shifts per month, specific schedule discussed during the interview - May float to other general medicine floors within the hospital Description: Please ensure the traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting the role, the unit manager may assign the traveler to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts may vary. By signing the travel contract, the traveler accepts the above and will report as assigned by the immediate unit manager if an emergency event occurs. Travelers should not apply if they are not comfortable with the above conditions. Patient population primarily includes geriatrics. The patient diagnoses primarily involve the geriatric population specifically on general medicine floors within an acute environment. High acuity patients will be encountered within a regional referral center. Staffing and scheduling for the unit will involve working block schedules. Patient ratios and weekend coverage will be discussed in the interview, with accommodations for pre-approved time off. Reference requests will not be required for submission initially, but two manager or supervisor references will be necessary for contract clearance. This role is for candidates who are comfortable in a dynamic clinical setting and have solid experience in patient care within acute rehabilitation. Excellent time management and communication skills are essential. Candidates should be prepared for the challenges associated with high-acuity patient care.
