Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical Therapist Outpatient Specialty: Physical Therapist Outpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Active Physical Therapist license required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have: Experience in orthopedic physical therapy required Description: This position will start at one location and switch to another in July. Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities. Restore patient physical functioning by interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results. Determine physical therapy treatment goals and plans. Administer manual therapy and exercises. Instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities and in using assistive and supportive devices. Evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. Perform patient assessments and establish a plan of care. Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation. Discuss evaluations, goals, and treatments with both patients and families. Participate in quality process improvement initiatives. Supervise physical therapist assistants according to organization policy and state regulations. Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Excellent organizational skills are necessary. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is essential. Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the audience's needs. Skills in teaching others how to perform tasks are important. Excellent problem-solving, case management, and communication skills are necessary. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements is required.
