Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: PT Specialty: Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 08:00-16:30 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: NC Physical Therapy license Certifications: CPR certification Must-Have: Experience in a hospital and/or nursing home setting. Description: The position is situated in a rehab services department. The facility has 24 acute/swing beds, 40 nursing home beds, and 10 skilled beds within the nursing home. Patient ratios are 1:1. The rehab department consists of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. Typical equipment for rehab services is available. Treatment is conducted in patient rooms, hallways, outdoor areas, and in the rehab gym. Documentation is done using Cerner and NetHealth systems. The schedule requires 40 hours per week, and it will be reviewed during the interview. Clinicians may be asked to float between acute/swing care, nursing home, and outpatient services as needed. Regular communication with the rehab team regarding patient progress, needed equipment, and discharge needs is essential. The position involves performing physical therapy evaluations, establishing plans of care, and assisting with rounds and care conferences. The department is known for a collaborative team atmosphere that focuses on providing exceptional patient care. Celebrations and recognition of staff are frequent within the team. The facility is stroke certified, and a majority of the beds accommodate swing bed patients. A new rehab gym will be coming soon, and an outdoor gym is in the design phase. Clinicians will have full access to both gyms. The nursing home facility is rated five stars. The team is dedicated to a positive working environment and supportive patient care.
