Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical Therapist Specialty: Physical Therapy Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8 hours (7 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Texas and national physical therapy license Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Wound care experience preferred, IP/OP experience Description: Candidates must not have been employed by any facility associated with the healthcare system within the past year. Call outs are strongly discouraged and could lead to termination. May be asked to precept as needed by the unit. General certification requirements include BLS. The department treats a combination of inpatient and outpatient patients. Patients may include those with general concerns, wounds, orthopedic issues, neurological conditions, and debility. Experience with acute inpatient and skilled outpatient care is required. The unit has supportive nursing and therapy staff. General physical therapy cases will be seen, such as fractures and orthopedic injuries. There will be a mix of neurology cases, and a few amputations and neck pain. No acutely ill patients will be admitted to this facility. Specialized cases will be referred to a sister facility. There are 2 full-time staff physical therapists available for support. Shifts will be rotated for holidays as needed. Staff must wear maroon scrubs, which are not provided. There is a supportive environment with experienced staff to assist with patient care and treatment.
