Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active Kentucky state PT license required to start the assignment.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
• Experience working in inpatient rehabilitation or long-term acute care settings preferred.
• Competence in comprehensive patient evaluations, development of plan of care, goal writing, and discharge planning.
• Ability to document clearly and timely in clinical records, including daily notes, functional assessments, letters of medical necessity, and discharge documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and perform safe patient handling practices.
• Maintain professional licensure and fulfill state-mandated continuing education requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with concurrent and group treatment sessions in an inpatient rehab or LTACH environment.
• Experience with equipment trialing and home exercise program development.
• Previous participation in student supervision or clinical education.

Assignment Details

• Shift schedule: 5x8 day shifts.
• Floating between hospital units may be required as needed.

Impacting Patient Care

The role requires completing comprehensive evaluations and developing treatment plans focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay. The clinician will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address discharge barriers, complete equipment trials and ordering, provide patient and family training, and ensure timely, accurate documentation. The clinician will adhere to facility safety practices including safe patient handling, infection control, and workplace hazard reporting. Participation in professional development and quality improvement initiatives is expected.
