Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty: Physical Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5x8's or possible alternative schedule Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Must hold active license as a Physical Therapist Certifications: Continuing Education courses preferred Must-Have: Hold license as a Physical Therapist in the state in which you intend to work. Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as necessary. Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs. Utilize Electronic Medical Record to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries for patient files. Guide and monitor patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up. Supervise PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care. Communicate with physicians and other persons to ensure quality patient care. Correspond with co-workers and other offices via phone, fax, and email. Be responsible for accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up regarding prescriptions, test results, authorizations, etc. Ensure patients are comfortable and answer questions when necessary. Work closely with the front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up. Have computer skills necessary to complete job requirements, e.g., typing, Word, Internet, EMR, etc. Make independent decisions regarding patient care. Be involved in the business marketing and referral process when necessary. Follow HIPAA policy and procedure. Be familiar with PT billing policy and procedure regarding Medicare, work-comp, private, auto, liens, cash pay, etc. Be proficient in DX and ICD-10 coding for the billing of services. Be physically mobile, including a combination of stool sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for 8-10 hour workdays based on patient care schedule. Be able to lift 50 pounds and assist moving patients with mobility restraints, assist patients with transferring, and provide standby assistance during patient walking safety. Description: The physical therapist implements patient rehabilitation programs to help improve patient mobility, function, and strength. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This position works in an outpatient rehabilitation setting. Expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with privacy policies, procedures, and practices as required by federal and state law. May access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent necessary to complete job duties. May only share such information with those who have a need to know specific patient information in order to complete job responsibilities related to treatment, payment, or other operations. Encouraged and expected to report any concerns regarding policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of that policy. Expected to participate in privacy training and communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, and others in accordance with policy. Must comply with OSHA and federal and state regulations. The physical demands described are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position involves walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving continually during working hours. Subject to lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds, pushing wheelchairs, and transporting and supporting patients. Employee must be constantly alert for patient safety. No travel is expected for this position.
