Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Required State License to Practice Certifications: BLS, PT License Must-Have: Candidates need a good understanding of neuro, multi-trauma, and medically complex diagnoses. Ability to complete thorough chart reviews and have a good understanding of lab values, weight-bearing precautions, etc. Candidates must be flexible and demonstrate skill through good documentation, effective communication, and time management. Team player with advanced understanding and previous use of mobility devices and lift systems. Knowledge of back braces, upper extremity/lower extremity positioning devices, hip/spine/cardiac precautions, etc. Utilize clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to advance patients through their continuum of care. Description: Facility offers a rehabilitation services unit. The unit consists of 325 beds, with patient ratios of 9-14 assigned per day. Staffing includes 23 physical therapists, comprising full-time and part-time positions. Types of equipment include Sara Stedys, stroke/cardiac chairs, powered lifts, walkers, canes, wheelchairs, sliding boards, and adaptive equipment. Documentation is completed using an electronic system. Working mid and late-day shifts will be required. Floating policy includes being cross-trained onto other supportive teams during busy days. Previous acute care experience is recommended, with ICU experience preferred. Specific procedures performed on the unit include neuro re-education, gait training, cognitive re-education, and energy conservation. Staff members are encouraged to assist with caseloads and departmental tasks as needed. It is expected to check in with nursing staff before and after each patient interaction. All staff are required to wear identification badges while on duty. Employees working over 6 hours need to take a 30-minute lunch break. The unit promotes a close-knit and supportive therapy team culture. Collaboration among disciplines facilitates strong relationships with ancillary teams and medical staff. Numerous team members participate in group activities outside of work, fostering a positive environment.
