Responsibilities
- Conduct general physical therapy evaluations and provide treatments for a broad adult patient population to improve functional abilities.
- Develop, implement, and adjust a therapy plan of care with goals; supervise and direct the work of Physical Therapist Assistants and other designated staff.
- Collaborate with referring providers and the healthcare team; participate in rounds and care conferences to review patient status and needs.
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, diagnoses, and prognoses in the patient record per policy; ensure timely, compliant charting and reporting.
- Create and modify home exercise programs; educate patients and families, provide clear instructions, and obtain feedback to confirm understanding.
- Assist in equipment fit and procurement (e.g., durable medical equipment) and coordinate with team members to ensure items are available for discharge planning.
- Maintain clinical space and equipment, support education for staff and patients, and participate in committee or in-service activities as assigned.
- Adhere to regulatory and professional standards, including APTA guidelines, and maintain patient confidentiality and quality assurance practices.

Requirements
- Active Alaska Physical Therapist license required at time of submission
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Flu vaccination required
- Education: Entry-level qualifying master’s or doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program; OR graduate from an APTA-approved program at master’s or bachelor’s level with 2 years of proven work/Continuing Education experience demonstrating doctoral-level knowledge
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in adult outpatient rehabilitation
- Ability to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings as assigned
- Travel eligibility: Traveler must reside at least 50 miles away from the assignment location; position does not include housing or flight provisions
