Key Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate the activities and delivery of pharmacy services during assigned shifts.
- Supervise and verify the accuracy of all work completed by pharmacy support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with target drug programs, formulary management, medication management initiatives, and adverse drug event monitoring programs.
- Document and report clinical interventions, medication errors, and adverse drug events.
- Operate within pharmacy policy and procedures, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations set forth by the Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory agencies.
- Participate in department quality improvement efforts and contribute to the training of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals.
Required Qualifications- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required; experience cannot be substituted for degree.
- Active Pharmacist State License (Massachusetts).
- Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration (MCSR).
- Massachusetts Department of Public Health registration.
- Must complete 20 continuing education credits per year to maintain licensure.
- Extensive knowledge in IV Admixtures, Drug Information, Ambulatory, Manufacturing, and Drug Distribution.
Preferred Experience / Skills- 2–3 years of experience working as a licensed pharmacist.
- Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements, prescription calculations, drug identification, generic equivalents, and proper drug handling and storage practices.
- Demonstrated ability to assess patient data relative to age-specific needs across the lifespan, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
