Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure the supply of medicines is within the law
- Verify the suitability of prescribed medicines
- Maintain confidential records, ensuring accurate management of patient records and pharmacy files
- Advise patients on medication usage and potential reactions
- Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription medicines
- Conduct services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and clerks
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate solutions to healthcare practitioners
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists
Requirements of the Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board
