Pediatric Recovery Room Nurse (PACU Pediatrics) in Portland, Oregon. This position involves providing specialized postoperative care to pediatric patients in a dedicated pediatric post-anesthesia care unit within a short-term acute care facility. The role requires flexibility to float between different units and facilities based on operational needs, with a focus on pediatric patient recovery and safety.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license, minimum of 1 year of pediatric PACU experience, current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications, proficiency with Epic electronic charting system. Experience working with pediatric patients across Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, and Pediatrics age groups, including performing post-operative assessments and managing pain and sedation.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric surgery unit experience, prior float experience within inpatient or pediatric acute care environments.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to other units or facilities as per operational needs.
  • Additional Information: This position is for a pediatric pre/post/postoperative care RN in a standalone pediatric surgery department. The department handles outpatient surgeries and inpatient care for various surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, urology, plastics, dental, oral maxillofacial, endoscopy, ophthalmology, and NICU. Candidates are expected to commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays and must have a vehicle for the assignment. Orientation includes 30 hours of training.
