Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position requiring a minimum of 3 years of Pediatric CVICU experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (CVPICU) of an academic medical center
  • Pediatric cardiovascular patient population including congenital heart disease, post-cardiac surgery, and post-cardiac catheterization cases
  • Variable day and night shifts available (3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00)
  • Epic EMR — experience required
  • Floating may be required to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75-mile radius if qualifications are met
  • Local candidates are accepted under the same terms as travel candidates

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license currently in hand required
  • BSN required
  • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA) and PALS
  • ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Pediatric CVICU experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • PICU or NICU experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required

  • 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
  • Any prior employment with any University of California medical facility or affiliated facility must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names, for an HR rehire eligibility check

Additional Information

  • Provide complex cardiovascular nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
  • Pre-employment and annual learning modules are required and are non-billable; modules vary in length and those exceeding 24 hours are billable
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront — no additional RTO requests will be accepted mid-contract, and RTO is not permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Travel pairs are permitted but will generally not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
