Job Summary:
The pediatric critical care unit registered nurse (RN) role is based in a healthcare facility in Minnesota. This position involves providing family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PEDS CIU). The RN will be responsible for coordinating care, utilizing the nursing process, and collaborating with the healthcare team to support patients requiring intensive cardiac and pediatric care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts with straight days or straight nights. Each shift is 12 hours long, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of accredited school of nursing, Minnesota RN license or Minnesota Temporary Permit-RN, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, and two (2) years PICU nursing experience or two (2) years pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) nursing experience. Candidate must be competent to care for pre-operative and immediate post-operative cardiac surgical patients, trauma patients, and pre- and post-cardiac procedural patients.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for pediatric surgical and trauma patients, and proficiency in family-centered nursing care.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: The expectation is that RNs are willing to float between two hospitals as needed, working at either location in Minneapolis or St. Paul, Minnesota. The position is available for an immediate start with upcoming orientations on 08/10 and potentially 08/24, pending approval.
