  • Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse - PCU
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Shift Schedule: 3x12-hour day/night schedule, weekdays with some weekends; rotating holidays required
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940-$2,040
  • Unit Setting: Progressive Care Unit / lower-acuity cardiac step-down
  • Patient Ratio: 1:3-4
  • Floating: Required to float to similar or lower acuity units within the organization as needed
  • Orientation: 36 hours

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of Progressive Care Unit or step-down nursing experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • EPIC experience required
  • Strong clinical skills in telemetry, IV starts, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia management
  • Experience with interpretation of dysrhythmias, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, and rapid response support
  • Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or other formal leadership role

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality cardiac nursing care for adult patients in a lower-acuity PCU setting
  • Monitor patient status, assess changes in condition, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Administer medications, manage telemetry monitoring, and support safe, effective patient care
  • Assist with cardiac-related procedures and unit-specific care needs, including arrhythmia management and post-procedure monitoring
  • Float to comparable units within the organization as needed to support patient care
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, documentation standards, and patient safety practices
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on quality outcomes and compassionate care
