Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940-$2,040
- Setting: 31-bed mixed-acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / stepdown unit serving adult medicine and med-surg patients
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Schedule: Day 3x12 (07:00 - 19:30) and Night 3x12 (19:00 - 07:30)
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Float: Required within the organization as needed
- Documentation: EPIC
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Ohio or compact license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of progressive care, stepdown, telemetry, or med-surg experience
- BLS and ACLS required
- Experience with CPAP/BiPAP, cardiac drip titration, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Comfortable providing care in a mixed-acuity adult environment
- Charge nurse experience preferred, especially for night shift coverage
- Strong teamwork, communication, and flexibility for floating as needed
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult stepdown and mixed-acuity patients
- Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Manage CPAP/BiPAP support, oxygen therapy, and cardiac drips per protocol
- Support common med-surg and medicine service diagnoses, including COPD, CKD, bacteremia, anemia/GIB, and altered mental status
- Perform wound care, tracheostomy care, feeding tube care, and chest tube management as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, efficient patient care
- Float to other units within the organization when needed
