Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills in a PCU / step-down environment
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients
• ACEN- or CCNE-accredited education preferred for compliance

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to patients with a wide range of diagnoses in a Progressive Care Unit setting
• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Perform IV starts and maintain peripheral access
• Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, cardiac monitoring, and step-down level interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Float to equivalent or lower-acuity units within the organization as needed
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Work effectively in a self-scheduling environment while maintaining unit staffing needs
