Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown position at a major academic medical center in Ohio, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience.

Details

  • Mixed-acuity Stepdown/PCU unit within a large academic hospital setting
  • Adult and geriatric patient population with general chronic medical conditions
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
  • Epic EMR used for documentation
  • Medication administration via Pyxis, Accudose, and Omnicell systems
  • SBAR communication framework used on the unit
  • In-house provider support available 24/7
  • Floating within the hospital organization required
  • On-call responsibilities required

Requirements

  • Active OH state or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
  • PCU, Stepdown, or DOU experience preferred
  • Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, isolation precautions/PPE, IV therapy, and peripheral line care
  • Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (e.g., supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference; co-worker references are not accepted

  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to acceptance and will be built into the contract, limited to 7 days or fewer
