Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry Nights position requiring PA or Compact RN license and telemetry patient care experience.

Details

  • Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
  • Care for a cardiac telemetry and stepdown/IMC patient population
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-7:30
  • Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius as needed
  • Every other holiday coverage required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team activation
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central line and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience managing cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and thrombolytic agents (no titration)
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
  • Two supervisor references required for consideration
  • SSN, DOB, and RTO required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to telemetry and PCU patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Manage patients with cardiovascular, neurological, genitourinary, and gastrointestinal conditions
  • Support post cardiac catheterization, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery patients
  • Assist with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
  • Provide care for total joint replacement and traction patients
  • Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
  • Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
  • Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
  • Compliance requirements including fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this role
