Registered Nurse - Step-Down/Telemetry Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts are from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. There is a requirement to work every other weekend and assist with holiday shifts. No on-call duty is expected.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Step-Down/Telemetry unit. This unit focuses on clinical decision-making and direct admissions from the Emergency Department (ED) while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Receive admitted patients from the ED and perform admission assessments.
  • Conduct medication reconciliation and initiate acute care orders.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient throughput and experience.
  • Float to other units as needed within the scope of practice.
  • Ensure adherence to patient safety and care guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) units.
  • Active RN license.
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
  • Charge Nurse experience or willingness to consider is appreciated.
