Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call Required | Projected Start: August 2, 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit serving a mixed level of care, including medical-surgical and step-down patients
  • Monitor and manage patients via hardwired bedside telemetry equipment, ensuring timely recognition and response to changes in patient condition
  • Care for short-stay patients (less than 24-hour length of stay) in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members across day shift staffing models
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
  • Float to other units as needed based on census and staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Demonstrated telemetry competency
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Recent progressive care or step-down experience (within the past 1–2 years)
  • Experience in high-acuity, high-turnover inpatient environments
  • Positive, patient-focused attitude with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
