Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU night shift position requiring an active OH or compact license and at least 2 years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown level care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license, Ohio state or compact, required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with telemetry unit monitoring and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Proficient in oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response coordination
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care as part of daily responsibilities
• Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
• Required time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing the contract, either in person or via mailed packet depending on location
