Job Description

Join a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specializing in chest pain management, cardiac monitoring, and progressive care for adult and geriatric patients. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced PCU nurses seeking a rewarding travel assignment in a nationally recognized acute care setting.

Assignment Highlights

  • 13-week travel contract
  • Night Shift: 3x12s (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
  • EPIC charting
  • First-time travelers welcome

Unit Details

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Chest pain evaluation and MI rule-in/rule-out
  • Cardiology and medicine overflow
  • Occasional post-cardiac catheterization patients
  • Remote telemetry monitoring
  • Float within clinical skill set as needed

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Virginia or Compact preferred)
  • Current:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • NIHSS
  • EPIC experience required
  • Experience with:
    • Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
    • Rapid Response/Code Team activation
    • IV therapy, blood administration, and central/peripheral line care
    • Cardiac drips including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose Dopamine/Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, and Lasix (no titration)
    • Oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management
