Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring at least 1 year of MS/Tele/PCU experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Float position covering PCU, MS, and MS/Tele units within the hospital
  • Adult to geriatric patient population with MS, MS/Tele, and PCU diagnoses
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Patient ratios of approximately 1:4-5 on PCU and 1:5-6 on MS/MS Tele
  • Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
  • Works every other weekend, averaging 6 weekends over a 13-week contract
  • Floating required across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
  • No on-call requirements
  • Navy blue scrub color required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
  • Charting experience with Epic required
  • Experience with patient ratios of 1:5-6 on MS/Tele and 1:3-4 on PCU preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring required
  • Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management required
  • Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care across MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units, including cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management
  • Manage IV therapy, central and peripheral lines, and blood product administration
  • Care for patients requiring respiratory support such as BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
  • Administer medications including cardiac and vasoactive drips, PCA, and insulin protocols
  • Support rapid response and code team activities as needed
  • Holiday coverage required based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were previously cancelled or not returned by Piedmont must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
