Job Title: Patient Care Technician Profession: Patient Care Technician Specialty: Patient Care Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required License: Current state license required Certifications: BLS certification CNA certification Must-Have: Emergency Department experience Ability to work all scheduled shifts Weekend availability Description: ED experience is required. Position involves working as an Emergency Department Patient Care Technician. The schedule includes 4x12-hour shifts during the day or mid-shift. All scheduled shifts must be worked; scheduling requests outside of approved time off cannot be accommodated. Required to work weekends; may be every weekend or a mix of every weekend/every other. Must possess certifications in BLS and CNA, and a current state license is required. This is a trauma center with both adult and pediatric care. The facility provides care for patients who may be indigent, incarcerated, non-English speaking, or experiencing mental health or substance use disorders. Tasks include performing CPR, taking vital signs, conducting EKGs, assisting with activities of daily living, and managing restrained patients. Teamwork and the ability to float within the unit to meet facility needs are essential. The patient-to-staff ratio may vary between 10 to 14, depending on patient needs. Travelers will not be trained on trauma in the first 13-week contract. This role requires physical capability to perform tasks and assist with patient handling.
