Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with 2+ years of experience, Epic proficiency, and SC or Compact RN licensure for a Phase I PACU position.

  • Acute care hospital setting in the PACU department
  • Phase I PACU work setting caring for inpatient surgical patients across multiple specialties including ortho, general, ENT, urology, vascular, and more
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:30a-6:00p
  • One required late shift per week, remaining on the unit as second nurse until the last OR case is recovered
  • On-call required one night per week and one weekend every 6 weeks
  • No weekend shifts required outside of call
  • No floating required between units or sister facilities

Requirements

  • ,
  • Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Critical Care training preferred
  • Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

  • Provide post-anesthesia recovery care including airway assessment, cardiac monitoring, pain management, and PCA pump management
  • Support a wide range of surgical specialties including bariatrics, orthopedics, plastics, robotics, thoracic, and vascular cases
  • Scrubs provided by facility
  • First-time travelers may be accepted depending on candidate qualifications
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard travel rate
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, based on unit needs
  • Travelers may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June through November)
