Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient position in Tucson, AZ, requiring at least 1 year of outpatient experience and an active AZ license prior to start.
Details
- Outpatient physical therapy setting
- Patient population includes general orthopedic, injured workers, and direct access cases
- Responsibilities span evaluation and treatment, work hardening, functional capacity evaluations (FCEs), post-offer employment testing (e.g., WorkSTEPS, APET), and ergonomic evaluations
- Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent outpatient physical therapy experience required
- Active Arizona PT license required prior to start date; license must be in good standing (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients per physician referral or direct access, supervising PTAs and PT technicians, and performing work-related assessments such as FCEs, work hardening evaluations, and ergonomic/job analyses
- Clinician is expected to develop competency in ACOMP systems for establishing return-to-work plans of care
- Role includes maintaining communication with referring physicians, updating rehab nurses on patient progress, and understanding billing codes for various payer types
- Some administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling patient visits, and taking referrals may be required
- Participation in business development, marketing to referral sources, and community events representing the clinic is expected
