Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in trauma to join our surgical team. The OR RN will provide safe, age-appropriate patient care and act as an advisor and resource for patients and their families. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various surgical services, including trauma, ENT, colorectal, plastics, neurosurgery, surgical oncology, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care in the operating room for a variety of surgical cases.
• Monitor and assess patient status during procedures.
• Administer medications and perform procedures as required.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about the surgical process and postoperative care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license in Maryland or a Compact license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an operating room setting.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications preferred.
• Completion of a 16-hour Maryland approved trauma course by the 27th week.
• 8-hour annual trauma CEUs required.
