Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4+ years of experience and a SC or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of an acute care hospital
• General OR setting supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, orthopedic, general surgery, neurology, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, and trauma cases
• Utilizes Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and Hana Table equipment
• Epic charting system used
• 5x8-hour day shift schedule from 6:45am to 3:15pm
• Weekend requirement typically every 4th weekend with weekday coverage, depending on staffing needs
• On-call responsibilities required per rotation, with weekday call hours from 3pm to 7am
• Floating required within scope to sister units or facilities as needed

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum of 4 years of OR nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience with a variety of surgical specialties and procedures preferred
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information

• Provide direct surgical support and OR nursing care across multiple specialties
• Surgical scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be considered at the full travel pay rate, though local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff including travelers may be assigned to emergency response duties
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks based on staffing needs
• Request for block scheduling may be submitted but is not guaranteed
