Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in the Denver, CO area, requiring at least 2 years of clinical experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.
Details
- Position is based in a 408-bed hospital's main OR, which includes 14 operating rooms: 1 hybrid cardiovascular OR, 1 cystoscopy OR, and 12 multipurpose ORs
- The OR team consists of approximately 60 FTEs, including OR RNs, CSTs, PCTs, Anesthesia Techs, Service Line Lead RNs, and Clinical Charge RNs
- Day shift staffing includes 14–16 RNs and 14–16 CSTs; night shift operates with a reduced team plus call coverage for Neuro, CVOR, and General services
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- Common procedures include angioplasty, appendectomy, biopsy, and orthopedic/spine cases; no transplant procedures are performed
- Standard OR equipment is used, including Stryker video systems
- EMR system is Meditech; experience is preferred
- Shift hours are 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-call is required one day per week from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, with weekend on-call once every 6 weeks when the SSC Ortho physician is on call
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR clinical experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Circulating and scrubbing experience preferred
- Meditech EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Strong patient experience focus and effective communication with staff and providers are highly valued
- Adaptability to change is an important trait for success on this unit
