Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position specializing in Urology, Gynecology/Oncology, and transplant surgeries, requiring robotic surgery experience.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Tier 5 assignment focused on GYN/GU/Transplant cases
- Cases include kidney transplant, hysterectomy, nephrectomy, cystectomy, ureteroscopy, laparoscopic gynecology, HOLEP, ureteroscopy, and organ procurements
- Uses the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system for urologic and gynecologic robotic procedures
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Day/Evening shift schedule, 12-hour shifts Monday through Friday variation from 0940-2210
- Weekend call required
- First two weeks consist of orientation shifts from 0640-1510 Monday through Friday
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Experience required in Urology, Gynecology/Oncology, kidney transplant, pancreas transplant, and robotic surgery
- Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic system
- Skills required in abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair, laparoscopic gynecological procedures, cystectomy, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start
Additional Information
- Perform circulating and scrub duties for complex GYN, urology, and transplant surgical procedures
- Responsibilities include administration of blood and blood products, specimen handling/labeling, and universal protocol time-out procedures
- Knowledge of infection control, laser safety, emergency management, code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia protocols required
- Work setting includes General OR, Trauma, and Kidney Transplant services
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
