A registered nurse (RN) specializing in Operating Room (OR) procedures is sought for a position in Salem, Massachusetts. The role involves rotating day, evening, and weekend shifts, with a focus on complex surgical procedures within a Level III Trauma Operating Room. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Salem, Massachusetts
  • Schedule: Rotating Day/Eve shifts requiring rotation to 2-3 evenings per 4-week schedule. Weekend rotation involves 1-2 shifts per 4-week schedule. Night shift rotation is not required. The shift hours are approximately 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), 1-2 years of experience in operating room settings, and ability to perform basic aseptic techniques, circulation independently, and multispecialty procedures. Experience with Mako and Da Vinci surgical systems is preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and CNOR certification are preferred, as well as scrub experience.
  • Additional Information: The OR handles pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations, with approximately 30-40 patients per day. EMR documentation is managed through EPIC. No float rotation is required. The role includes responsibilities such as providing care during complex surgeries, handling on-call duties including holidays, and working with a patient ratio of 1:1.
