Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring strong neuro/spine surgical experience and a MO or compact RN license

Details

  • Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I and Level II trauma teaching hospital
  • Perform scrub role for a variety of surgical specialties including vascular, neurology, orthopedic, robotics, and ENT procedures
  • Handle procedures such as craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, and various robotic surgeries
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Cerner charting system preferred
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Mandatory floating required across departments, including serving as a Patient Observer/Sitter when needed
  • On-call responsibilities required
  • Weekend work required
  • Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather required

Requirements

  • Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Strong neuro/spine surgical experience required
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
  • Ability to work in a healthcare facility open 24/7 with routine exposure to contagious illnesses

Additional Information

  • Provide scrub support for a wide range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
  • Must be able to work the full term of the assignment, including assigned shifts, weekends, call, and holidays
  • Required to work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Locals within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
  • Maximum requested time off (RTO) is 10 days
  • Re-orientation is not required for returning travelers within 18 months of their last assignment
  • This is a very active role requiring physical stamina and mobility throughout shifts
