Job Summary:
Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) position in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care in a Level 1 trauma center with a focus on transplant, neuro, ortho, vascular, and emergency cases. The RN will coordinate multidisciplinary team activities, facilitate efficient surgical case progression, and maintain high standards of patient care in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, effective starting 08/24/2026
  • Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS certification from the American Heart Association, minimum of 3 years of recent acute care experience in operating room settings with experience in neuro, ortho, transplant, and vascular surgeries. Inpatient RN experience must include at least two years within the last three years in the relevant specialty.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital experience, trauma level I or II experience, travel experience, and skills in multiple service lines including traumas, transplant, neuro, ortho.
  • Additional Information: The RN will be involved in planning patient care with the multidisciplinary team, facilitating timely operations and turnover, and floating across all service lines including trauma and emergency cases. Candidates must meet strict pass/fail testing criteria, including a telemetry exam with 80% passing score, attempted twice before submission of a cardiac review course if failed. The role requires a strong skill set in complex surgical procedures and a willingness to learn and adapt.
