Description

American Traveler is hiring an Oncology Chemo Certified RN with chemotherapy certification for an infusion role requiring 1+ year of oncology experience and float coverage across multiple hospitals.

Details

  • Work in an Oncology Infusion Center, inpatient and outpatient oncology setting within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level III Trauma hospital
  • Float between three affiliated hospitals as needed to meet facility staffing demands
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • No weekend requirements
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic/Excellian charting system
  • Open to block scheduling arrangements

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license (license in hand preferred, pending license accepted)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of oncology/chemo specialty experience required
  • 2 years of RN experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line care, and PICC line care
  • Experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood/blood products
  • Knowledge of oncologic emergency management including anaphylaxis and extravasation injury
  • Experience managing chemotherapy-related symptoms and side effects
  • Familiarity with neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols
  • Phlebotomy skills required
  • 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, port and central line management, and symptom monitoring for oncology patients
  • Care for patients with a wide range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and other cancers
  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • Candidates must be located at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered for this position
  • Returning travelers must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked in a perm staff or per diem role
  • RTO requests ideally limited to no more than 5 days
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted
