Description

American Traveler is hiring an Oncology Clinic RN for a day-shift outpatient cancer center role requiring at least 1 year of outpatient oncology experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Outpatient setting within a cancer center's Oncology Clinic
  • Nurses are partnered with a specific tumor group for patient exams on designated days
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:30am to 6:00pm
  • No weekend or holiday requirements
  • Floating required among clinics within skillset
  • Patient ratios vary based on census, acuity, and staffing
  • EPIC EMR system used for charting

Requirements

  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of outpatient oncology experience required
  • Ambulatory care experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy and infusions
  • Experience administering, monitoring, and orally administering chemotherapy
  • Experience recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values
  • Experience in patient/family education and support
  • Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
  • Experience caring for patients with leukemia/blood dyscrasias
  • Preferred experience with accessing/managing ports and central line care
  • Preferred experience with advanced directives and hospice care
  • Preferred experience in BMT and neutropenic precautions
  • Preferred experience with lymphoma, multiple myeloma, bone marrow transplant, and stem cell therapies
  • Two current professional references required
  • Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care within a specialized tumor group, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Business casual attire acceptable, though scrubs are also permitted
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous employees of the health system must have been separated for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible for travel assignments
  • Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
  • Candidates with open or active background or license issues will not be accepted
  • International work history or permanent residency status must be disclosed
