The Role
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the outpatient team at a full-service rehabilitation facility in Sierra Vista, Arizona. In this full-time permanent role, you will provide comprehensive OT services to an outpatient caseload spanning upper extremity rehabilitation, ADL retraining, and functional independence, within a supportive interdisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing occupational therapy assessments and develop individualised care plans
- Deliver skilled OT interventions focused on ADL retraining, upper extremity rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, and functional independence
- Evaluate and recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications to support safe discharge
- Direct and supervise COTAs, rehab aides, and students as assigned
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries per facility and payer requirements
- Maintain productivity standards and ensure billing compliance
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team including PT, SLP, nursing, and medical staff
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic strategies, home programmes, and adaptive techniques
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy programme
- Current Occupational Therapy licence in the State of Arizona (or eligibility for licensure by endorsement)
- CPR/BLS certification current
- Minimum 1 year of OT clinical experience preferred new graduates with strong clinical foundations welcome to apply
- Strong documentation skills and ability to manage a caseload across multiple payer types
Preferred Experience
- Experience in hand therapy, upper extremity rehabilitation, or neurological OT
- Familiarity with EMR documentation in an outpatient setting
