Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and plan, implement, and adjust appropriate OT treatment programs based on evaluation results and patient and family goals.
- Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences, and collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Complete all required documentation including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in accordance with department policy and defined timeframes.
- Coordinate and participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement recommendations, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment issuance and training.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, OT and COTA students, and assist with new staff orientation.
- Promote patient and employee safety across all key areas including safe patient handling, infection control, and fall prevention.
Required Qualifications- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Oklahoma.
- Ability to assess patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and accurately administer appropriate evaluation procedures.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to complete records within defined timeframes and in accordance with department policies.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise support staff and students competently.
- Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and continuous quality improvement.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team setting.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes including adaptive equipment recommendations and caregiver training.
- Experience supervising COTAs or OT students in a clinical environment.
