Key Responsibilities- Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders; develop and implement appropriate plans of care in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
- Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
- Assess and adjust patient treatment plans based on progress; evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services accordingly, including appropriate referrals.
- Accurately document all required clinical and regulatory information in the electronic documentation system, including treatment minutes, progress notes, and comprehensive discharge summaries.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans; participate in patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings.
- Supervise and support occupational therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students as needed; adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.
Required Qualifications- Active Missouri Occupational Therapist (OT) license required.
- Minimum of 1 year of occupational therapy experience required.
- Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and accurate recording of treatment minutes per regulatory requirements.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience utilizing standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions.
- Familiarity with Medicare A, Medicare B, and Managed Care treatment protocols and documentation requirements.
