Job Overview
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for a 13-week contract assignment in Elk Grove, California. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat patients with physical, cognitive, or developmental impairments to improve independence and quality of life within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment.
This role requires strong clinical expertise, patient-centered care, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support rehabilitation goals and functional recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patient functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans
Provide therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and independence
Support patients with mobility, coordination, cognitive, and self-care activities
Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner
Educate patients and families on therapy programs and home exercises
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab staff to coordinate care
Adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical outcomes
Ensure compliance with facility policies and rehabilitation standards
Requirements
Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in California required
Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility standards
Minimum 1 year OT experience preferred
Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred
Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
Ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams
Knowledge of rehab protocols and patient safety standards
