Understanding of therapeutic milieu and running groups necessary. Description: Start date needed of 06/08/2026. Manager interviews required. The position typically involves 8 hours per day for a 40-hour work week. Shift times can vary based on staff and patient needs. The facility provides inpatient and outpatient care for pediatric patients. The occupational therapy team conducts evaluations, individual treatment, and therapeutic groups for pediatric patients. Work primarily involves the inpatient tween unit, which accommodates approximately 12 patients daily. Cross coverage to adolescent and younger patients may be necessary. 90% of patients will require evaluations and individual treatments. Patient types include ages 5-18 with common diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and ODD. The occupational therapist will be responsible for serving one unit with a treatment team that meets three days per week. The role involves group process and facilitation. The therapist should understand sensory integration skills and interventions. Clinical reasoning skills are essential. Comfort with various standardized assessments for evaluations is required. The ability to provide patient-centered care is necessary. Adaptability to meet patient and unit needs is crucial. A culture of teamwork is emphasized, with open communication among staff members. Support from recreational therapists and other occupational therapists is available, fostering problem-solving and collaborative treatment approaches. The facility utilizes EMR technology for patient documentation. Equipment used in treatment includes specialized therapeutic tools. Expected shift starting times can begin as early as 6:30 AM, depending on patient readiness. A half-hour lunch break is standard during shifts. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required, with equitable scheduling among staff. Business casual attire is expected, with specific dress code requirements in place.
