Job Description & Requirements
Occupational Therapist - Rehab - (OT - Rehab)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $2269.00 - $2338.00

Join a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation team as an Occupational Therapist in Lancaster, Ohio, a welcoming community that offers the best of small-town living with easy access to big-city amenities. Lancaster features a vibrant historic downtown, locally owned shops and restaurants, community festivals, and a strong sense of hometown pride. With an affordable cost of living, good schools, and friendly neighborhoods, it is an ideal setting for both early-career and experienced clinicians. The city’s location places you within a short drive of the scenic Hocking Hills region for hiking and outdoor adventures, as well as the cultural, dining, and sports options available in nearby Columbus. In this inpatient rehabilitation role, you will work in a modern, well-equipped environment designed to support functional recovery and safe transitions back to home and community. Treatment spaces typically include dedicated therapy gyms, ADL suites that simulate home environments, and access to adaptive equipment and technology to optimize patient outcomes. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team that may include physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, and physiatrists, all collaborating to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care. Your typical day will focus on comprehensive evaluation and treatment of adult and geriatric patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic surgeries, debility, and other complex medical conditions. You will perform detailed assessments, set measurable, functional goals, and provide individualized interventions such as self-care and ADL training, cognitive and perceptual retraining, upper extremity and fine motor rehabilitation, functional mobility and transfer training, and home safety education. A strong emphasis is placed on family and caregiver education to support a safe and successful discharge plan. You can expect to manage a reasonable caseload that allows for high-quality, one-on-one care and thorough documentation. Patient ratios are structured to support meaningful time with each patient, interdisciplinary communication, and participation in team conferences. Occupational therapists are actively involved in weekly or regular team meetings to discuss progress, adjust goals, and coordinate discharge planning. Shifts typically follow a daytime schedule to align with patient treatment needs, with the possibility of weekend or holiday coverage as part of a fair rotation. The team culture prioritizes collaboration, professional respect, and open communication, creating a supportive environment for both new and experienced therapists. New hires receive structured orientation to the inpatient rehabilitation processes, EMR system, and documentation standards, along with ongoing clinical support. This position offers a strong platform for professional growth. Inpatient rehab experience is a significant asset on a resume, demonstrating competency with medically complex cases, interdisciplinary practice, and intensive, outcomes-focused therapy. You will have opportunities to refine your clinical skills, participate in program development or quality initiatives, and explore areas of specialization such as neurologic rehabilitation, balance and falls, cognitive rehabilitation, or community reintegration training.
