Description: The Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services to participants. Services are provided to maximize participant independence and safety and enhance performance of activities of daily living (ADLs). The Occupational Therapist Assistant works with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist. Responsibilities include administering treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist. Assisting the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing. Coordinating with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement activities based on the individual treatment plans. Handling scheduling of treatment and clinical visits. Delivering and documenting Occupational Therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans. Providing training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers/families in the use and care of therapeutic equipment. Tracking and managing maintenance for equipment. Remaining alert to feedback from team members, participants, and caregivers. Updating the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team promptly of any changes in participant condition or functional status. Participating under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist in end-of-life care coordination and support. Completing required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Protecting privacy and maintaining confidentiality of all company procedures and information. Following company policies and procedures and participating in required quality improvement activities, staff training, and meetings. Communicating regularly with the Supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities. Exercising flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve. Performing other duties as assigned.
