This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with a minimum of 2 weekend shifts per month.

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, administering, directing, and supervising occupational therapy treatment in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and guidelines. The role emphasizes an unwavering commitment to safety for both patients and staff while delivering high-quality care and support.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient levels of functioning based on physician orders and implement appropriate treatment plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning, including patient/family education.
  • Complete all documentation according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students.
  • Promote patient and employee safety following safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Evaluate patients effectively, documenting findings and treatment plans in patient charts.
  • Show initiative in collaborating with team members for optimal patient care.
  • Document and reflect discharge plans in treatment plans accurately.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and personal information.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Valid and current State license as an Occupational Therapist.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional OT experience.
  • Previous inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
