Inpatient Wound & Ostomy RN

Location: Tacoma (98405)
Pay: $2,600/week
Shift: Days | 4x10s (Monday–Friday, ~8 AM – 5 PM)
Duration: 13 Weeks (extension possible)

✨ Specialize in Advanced Wound Care

We are seeking an experienced Wound & Ostomy Care RN to join a collaborative inpatient team providing specialized care across multiple facilities. This role is ideal for nurses with strong expertise in wound management, ostomy care, and patient education.

Unit Overview
  • Department: Wound Care (Inpatient)
  • Patient Load: 5–15 patients/day (based on consults)
  • Team: 3–4 Wound Care RNs
  • Coverage: Multiple hospitals within the system
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive wound and ostomy assessments
  • Manage and coordinate wound care treatment plans
  • Provide consults and recommendations to care teams
  • Treat conditions including:
    • Ostomies, fistulas, draining wounds
    • Pressure, vascular, arterial & diabetic ulcers
    • Surgical and trauma-related wounds
  • Manage wound vac therapy (Smith & Nephew)
  • Educate patients and staff on wound care and prevention
  • Handle documentation, billing, and discharge planning
  • Use mobile devices for photo documentation
Patient Population
  • Skin/tissue integrity issues
  • Incontinence-related skin conditions
  • Post-surgical and trauma wounds
  • Chronic wound patients
✅ Requirements
  • Active Washington RN License – Required
  • BLS Certification – Required
  • CWON (Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse) – Required
  • Wound Care Certification (WCC via NAWCO) – Preferred
  • Strong experience in inpatient wound care
  • Travel experience – Not required
Schedule & Details
  • Monday–Friday schedule (no weekends!)
  • No call or holiday requirement
  • Floating: May cover multiple facilities (planned in advance)
  • Orientation: System-wide + preceptor support
